The Chicago Cubs this morning announced that their best and most consistent left handed starter, Matthew Boyd, will start for them in game 4 of the National League Divisional Series against the Milwaukee Brewers.
Matthew Boyd’s Postseason History Stats
Matthew Boyd has made six postseason appearances in his career (five of them starts), compiling a 0-1 win-loss record with a 2.12 ERA over 17.0 innings pitched, during which he totaled 17 strikeouts and posted a WHIP of about 1.47.
Matthew started game 1 of the NLDS in Milwaukee where he was bounced early after only 2/3rds of an inning. Tonight looks to be different, as Matthew Boyd is a lot better at Wrigley Field than he is on the road.
The Milwaukee Brewers will look to capitalize on their game 1 success against Boyd and move onto the NL Championship Series where they’ll face either the Philadelphia Phillies or Los Angeles Dodgers. The Dodgers hold a 2-1 lead in that series as of today.
